PART 2
1. Introduction
This Part 2 explains how we process your data on behalf of 10x Clients when you complete a 10x Assessment.
The 10x Client for whom you are completing the assessment, controls, and determines the purposes and means of processing, your personal data. 10x only processes your personal data on behalf of the Employer or Prospective Employer.
You should review your Employer or Prospective Employer’s privacy policy for further details on how your personal data will be used.
2. Key points regarding your 10x Assessment
- If you are completing a 10x Assessment as part of a talent process with your Employer or Prospective Employer, your data will be used by the Employer or Prospective Employer to help inform their selection decisions, shortlisting and whether or not to make you an offer.
- Your 10x Assessment responses will be used to confirm that the assessment questions are consistent, measure what they are supposed to, and are clear to participants.
- The demographic data you provide (such as, for example, data relating to your education and ethnicity) will be used to generate anonymised comparison groups for benchmarking purposes and to ensure that assessments are designed to avoid any bias in assessments or unlawful discrimination.
- Your personal data will never be shared with third parties by us except with your Employer or Prospective Employer (other than where permitted by law).
- We collect and process special category (or sensitive) personal data (such as, for example, your health details, religion, sexual orientation) (special category data). Your prior consent will typically be sought, that we may process such special category data on behalf of the Employer or Prospective Employer, unless the Employer or Prospective Employer is entitled to rely on other lawful bases to process that special category data.
- Data about how you have interacted with the 10x Assessment will be used to better understand the effectiveness of the assessment methodology and trends for talent measurement purposes. This includes recording when a response is selected (even if you change your mind) and how long you have taken over each question. This information will be analysed to determine the difficulty of the questions, whether there is a potential response which acts a distractor and also gain information about how participants approach completing the 10x Assessment. When undertaking such an analysis, the data is anonymised and linked with the 10x Assessment responses rather than an identifiable individual.
- Once you have completed the 10x Assessment, you may be provided with access to a dashboard containing information about your overall strengths and the progress of your 10x Assessment. Such access will in each case be determined by the Employer or Prospective Employer. To ensure your personal data is only kept for a minimal amount of time, this dashboard will typically only be available for 45 days after you have completed the 10x Assessment.
- After 45 days, your identifiable data will be anonymised and (unless the dashboard access is made available for longer by your Employer or Prospective Employer) it will not be possible for you to log back in.
- 10x will only contact you for reasons relevant to the 10x Assessments. To communicate effectively throughout the process we require an email address, first name and last name. 10x will not contact you for direct marketing purposes, unless you have expressly agreed to this (in which case you should refer to 10x’s own Privacy Policy on its website which explains how 10x may process your data in the capacity as a data controller).
- When participating in a 10x Assessment, we may also gather technical information about your web browser for technical, security and performance issues, as well as understanding which browsers are most commonly used. This information also allows quicker investigation and diagnosis of any technical issues that are raised with how the 10x Assessment platform performs.
3. Retention
In accordance with data protection laws and good commercial practice, we aim not retain data in a form that permits identification of the person(s) to whom it relates for any longer than is necessary. Data retention will in each case be determined by your Employer or Prospective Employer.
4. Your rights
You have a number of rights in relation to the way your personal data is processed, including the right of access, to rectification, to erasure, to restrict processing, to data portability, to object and not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing.
To make a data subject rights request, please let your Employer/Employer or Prospective Employer know by contacting them directly. Their contact details will typically be set out in their Privacy Policy.
5. Security of data
We will take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk that could be encountered via the use of the 10x Assessment.
In particular, we will take precautions to protect against the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss or alteration, and unauthorised disclosure of or access to the personal data transmitted, stored or otherwise processed by us.
Please be aware that, while we make the security of your personal data a high priority and devote considerable time and resources to maintain robust IT security, no security system can prevent all security breaches.
